Hi,

Running a Mac Mini and iPhone 6s Plus and want to move to Google Apps for everything (browser, music, email etc). I will sell my 6s Plus and move to a Galaxy S7 Edge. I still want to keep my mac as i use Logic Pro X.

My questions is this.. Does anybody else use an android phone and google apps with a mac? Any tips on how to set it all up so google apps are default and posssibly delete itunes/photos etc?

I use the Google Play Music Manager to sync my iTunes library to my Google account (for play through the cloud but the music can also be cached to the device for offline play).

Messages communicates with the Hangouts protocol so once I added my Google account(s) to my Internet Accounts preference pane, I was getting my mail and SOME semblance of chats in the native apps. Calendar syncs as well, with the same account addition.

I use cloud services for that, because syncing between Android phones and MacBooks isn't the most ideal nowadays. I use Android File Transfer for copying and pasting files and folders, while mail, contacts, and such are all in the cloud. As mentioned above me, Google Play Music Manager is one of the few ways to do so, but another less ideal way would be to copy your iTunes music library to your Android phone using Android File Transfer.

Check out some suggestions here: http://www.androidauthority.com/how-to-transfer-music-itunes-android-230232/

I have a Galaxy S7 now and cannot find a decent way to transfer photos to the Mac. Yes android file transfer will work, but you can't preview which photos you are wanting to send over. Its all or nothing. Don't want to use cloud services for photos as I want to put them on the Mac and then edit them in Lightroom/photoshop , so its a pain to download the cloud photos , then edit , then reupload etc
