If you want a giant phone that doesn't work well for a phone, get the tab. If you want a real tablet get iPad.
LOL, another fanboy post bereft any detail and blinded by prejudice of anything non-apple.

For the record, the Tab can do anything the iPad can do and the same argument of the iPad being a large iPod touch has (and continues) to be bantered about. So before commenting about the Tab being a giant phone, choose your criticisms wisely because many of them have been made for the iPad.

Sorry dude, it's all about the user experience. You can polish that Samsung turd all you want but in the end it's still a turd.

I would wait... the tablet market will be changing over the next few months... But you really should list what you think you'll be using the tablet for...

wait till ipad 2 then ask that question again :) or go wi the android (looks better than ipad 1)

Am going to make this simple and refrain from saying you should choose this as I think it all depends on what you desire in a device.

I went to my favorite computer store a few months ago to look at their tablets and I was looking at Galaxy and of course the iPad, so my comparison is between these two and may not apply to your decision, but I hope it assists you in deciding what you need.

If you're looking at size, if you're looking for something bigger iPad is the winner, if not an Android Tablet would be something what youre looking for. Of course with Honeycomb, this is going to change.

If you're after camera, at the moment the iPad is not what youre looking for, but if you're looking for something with a longer battery life, then the iPad is a good choice.

If you're like me who is more into apps and apps availability, iPad is a winner as there are more apps available to users, in fact on Android paid apps arent available in every country, so I'd advise you to check online to see if youre country has the benefit of paid apps. A lot of the free apps on Android are practically useless and of poor quality, and I am speaking as the owner of an Android device which I've got for almost 2 years.

If speed is something you're after, I think both are quite good and due to the aggressive market everyone is trying to keep up or create something better. If youre after price well, that's to be determined as there are many android tablets out and a lot are being developed so its hard to say, but the Galaxy was much more affordable.

Now my suggestion. I am more into apps, in fact apps is what I regard as important and as a result I choose the iPad, and am not choosing it becuz I love apple, but I am making this choice as a regular customer. In my opinion, all these devices got a long way to go before I say they are ideal, and none of them is perfect, so from the list, you decide what is right for you, in the end my choice is and will be subjective and may not apply to you.

Regards

I wanted a 7" iPad to travel with, and was willing to wait, but Steve freaked out about the size. When he rants like that it's usually a smoke screen. Later Apple ends up building one.

Just like when he ranted about netbooks, then they built the 11" MBA, same thing. Steve is so predictable it's easy to tell what's next.

I bought a 7" Galaxy Tab and I really enjoy it. I had no idea they were so nice. The version of Android it has, is really capable of a lot.

It's perfect when on an airplane as I am, since I travel so much.

If Apple comes to their senses and offers a 7" I will still buy one, cause I enjoy all my Apple gear.

Oh and my full size iPad? It's great at home, but too thick and too heavy to put in the same case with my MacBook Pro.

Cheers... :)

People who respond in such a manner are typically fanboys themselves...

I think a 7 inch iPad would be an instant success. I enjoy my iPad it's a great tool but the portability of the 7" would make it that much better

A 7 inch tablet at a 16:9 ratio is pocketable in a back or jacket pocket. At 4:3 it might be a little too fat. If it isn't pocketable then might as well go big.
