So in your eyes about a week means a day? In your first post you said you had the moto 360 for about a week. Now you say a day. How can you tell much about a smartwatch in one day? Also there is no way you can tell anything about its battery life in one day.

You may like the AW better, and a lot of people do. But just making claims like these are kind of crazy. Maybe you could tell after a day the watch was not for you, but saying the battery life was double on the AW. There is no way you could tell that in one day.

Woah. Sorry it was a typo. I did have it for a week. I'm multitasking at work. So sorry for the mistake. But yeah the battery life I'm getting on the Apple Watch is double what I had on the Moto 360 and I generally like the interface on the Apple Watch more as well.

Well then you must have had a lemon. Apple says you get 18 hours on the AW, and most say that is generous. So your moto 360 got 8 hours of battery life? There has got to be something wrong. I have not gotten anything less than 15.

That's cool. One of my friends loves his Moto 360 as well. It was a very good looking device. Happy about the watch I have now but glad you enjoy yours. :)

Well thanks for answering my question. I am guessing that means you were not getting 8 hours on your moto 360. It's cool if you like your AW, but making up stats about another smartwatch is kind of crazy.

I would love to give the AW a try, but even if I did not like it. I would not make up things so it sounds like a bad product.

Huh? I guess I should be clear that I'm not trying to argue with you or get into this big debate where we're exchanging stats. Not sure where this aggression is coming from. I like the Apple Watch better and get much better battery life. I wasn't collecting battery stats when I owned my Moto 360 because I didn't anticipate someone on an internet forum jumping all over me for making a comment about battery life. If I could turn back time, I would have done it for you. Only you though.

As of now functionality both are even with the upcoming Android Wear update 5.1.1. The only differences between Wear and Apple are design and hardware.

Sweet!!!
I had no idea the Android Wear 5.1.1 update was adding support for Apple Pay to the Moto 360, and would add the ability to send morse code messages, doodles, and heartbeats... I'm shocked to hear that it is adding force touch ability to apps as well!! I would've thought that wasn't possible in an OS update!
I'm surprised I didn't read anywhere about Android Wear Research Kit, but you say both platforms are at feature parity after this update, so I'm going to believe you that I can aid in researching cures of diseases with a Moto 360 as well!
Thx for sharing this gem!!!
I honestly don't think anyone here was aware of how significant this 5.1.1 update was.
I think we all assumed that even after that update, the Apple Watch would have the aforementioned features, that Android Wear watches lack. Thanks again for the hot insider info!

I haven't used Android Wear, though I'd love to try it. Now to be fair, a lot of us with Apple Watch's are getting more (sometimes significantly more) than 18 hours. I'm getting more than double that. So the claim of it getting double the Moto 360's battery life in his particular usage situation could be perfectly accurate. Battery life seems to be all over the place with these types of devices.

Yeah I get that. My moto 360 can get way more than 18 hours as well. It all depends on what kind of notifications you are getting. I don't think any one watch is better on battery life than the other.

Maybe I jumped the gun a little, but it seems this section is filled with people trashing every other smartwatch because they think the AW is great. I like the AW too, and would love to try it with my 6+, but I also think the moto 360 is a great watch too. It just sounded to me like mjshabow made his first about things he did not like about the moto 360, and then when I called him on his mistakes he starts backing off.

Do you think if we was on an android forum, people wouldn't bash the 360?

Plenty of people on the android forums that are android fans bash the moto 360, LG Gwatch, and any other android wearable. I own an iPhone 6+, so I am not here to bash the AW. I think its a good watch, but its miles ahead of android wear like you guys keep claiming it is. Its just not. They do the same things just in different ways. Drawing on your watch does not make it a better smartwatch.

They do the same things yes, but Apple Watch actually does it in a way where you don't feel embarrassed wearing it. That's the difference IN MY OPINION.

What are you talking about? Embarrassed wearing it? No one is embarrassed wearing an android wear watch. I feel like am talking to a middle schooler. If you are embarrassed to wear an android wear watch, then you will be embarrassed to wear an Apple watch. They are both smartwatches and the AW does not look much different. Anyone can still tell its a smartwatch.

Middle schooler? You tried being in a meeting and your watch goes off? Doesn't just go off, goes ape ****. BUZZZZZZZZZ.

Your gonna say, put it on silence aren't you? Well I don't need to do that with apple watch. That's what I mean about embarrassing. Anyway, don't wanna take this further now so have your reply then we will call it quits. Laters

What in the heck are you talking about? I'm in meetings all day long with my Zenwatch and it does not attract attention unless I'm rude enough to touch it. A simple roll of the wrist and quick glance gives me everything I need to know. The vibration is certainly not loud if that is what you are implying. And who the heck has EVERY alert going to their watch so it's buzzing all day?

This was one of my biggest issues with the Pebble. I loved the Pebble and thought it did just about everything how I wanted it too. The vibrations were embarrassingly loud though. I had to remember to turn notifications off if I was in an important meeting but that will never be an issue with the Apple Watch. I hope this is something they work out with the Pebble Time because I really think it's a great (though completely different from the AW) product and that the vibrations just drew attention to it in a very negative way.

I must admit I have never played with any of the Samsungs, Motorola, LGs or Pebble, so maybe Asus being the newest to the game took note and corrected that. In fact, sometimes I'll miss an alert if I'm moving around because I wear it loose. Buzzing is the same volume as a smartphone in your front jeans pocket. If the others are really that bad, then I can't help but agree with you guys. I've only used theatre mode a few times to turn off notifications and screen and that's because I was in a theatre.

Shenfrey, way to be welcoming to new members of the forum. How do you know how many Apple products I own or have in the past? I'm purposely in this thread to learn about the differences between the watches and OS' to see if I'm going to buy one in the Fall as I stated on the first page. Way to go. I get the feeling you are one that feels no other company could ever put out a product as good as the great Apple?

I only had the original plastic Pebble, so maybe the steel was better, but it was VERY loud. If I left it in my jeans pocket in a pile of clothes and got a text message I could hear it.

Thanks David. Is the taptic feature of the Apple Watch completely silent? That's pretty smart of them from a design point. I had never thought of noise being an issue since mine is relatively quiet.

I purchased a Moto 360 a week ago. The notification does not "Buzz"; people sitting next to me in a meeting have no idea I just received a notification. The only difference between the Moto 360's vibration and the AW Haptic feedback is the frequency (high frequency vs low frequency).

It's completely silent, even with the prominent haptic setting on. I wouldn't hesitate to go into a meeting or whatnot with notifications on. The tradeoff, it's so subtle that if I'm doing anything fairly active or already moving my wrist when the notification comes in it's easy to miss and with the display being dark when not in use, if I miss a notification I won't catch it until the next time I check the time. A small tradeoff, but a still something to consider.

You could have explained yourself in your first response to me instead if being a vague. It sounded more as if you were describing the watch as not looking like a smartwatch.

So have you ever used an android wear watch? My moto 360 is not loud at all. It can barely be heard. Well no one, but me would know it went off in a meeting.

I have an LG G Watch R and am getting my Apple Watch (42mm SS BCB) tomorrow and am very much looking forward to seeing it in action.

The only thing I already know I'll miss from the LG G Watch R is that watch faces have a low-power version that always shows, so the screen is never fully black and you really can quickly glance at the time without waiting for the watch to realize you're looking at it.

I'm heading off to a conference next week and will use the iPhone 6+/Apple Watch one day then Galaxy S6 Edge/LG G Watch R the next and continue alternating between them like that from day to day. I'll post back here in a couple weeks with my experiences.
