That would be a mistake. It's one thing to be a non-techie (which she readily admits) when you're just responsible for retail, but she really shouldn't be responsible for Apple as a whole.
Is Cook a techie?

She knows how to run a company and her resume speaks for itself. They will be able to trust someone like her. Tim isn't a techie - he's a numbers guy and Apple is doing well.

I really wish she wouldn't use the phrase "fake news". It's use only works to legitimize the idea that the media is inherently untrustworthy.

But, most news outlets these days are fake news that is tailored to the agenda they are pursuing. Which evidently she was acknowledging when responding to the question about her being Cook's successor.

Someone at some news outlet knew that repeating a fake story about one of the wealthiest corporations on the planet would garner click's.

Some of the negatives are inevitable results of scaling up as much as Apple has.

Generally, I think it's positive for Apple's bottom line, and ever so slightly negative for the consumer. The fact it isn't more negative toward the consumer is a minor miracle, and a testament to Ahrendts and all involved in Apple stores.

Spoken like a true shareholder

I have to say my last experience at an Apple store was lackluster. I was looking for info on an iPod Nano. After finally finding an employee he just looked it up in app. Something I could have done. I wanted to see if there was a better option for me that I may have missed. This is partly the reason I shop online. If you’re going to do it for me, what’s the point? When you boast about a superior retail experience the forefront should be to know your product line cold.

I think she's doing a decent job. I haven't noticed many changes, either positive or negative, at my local stores.

By that definition she is doing a mediocre job. Any effort would result in some change. A good effort would result in positive change. If your Apple Store experience isn't noticeably better now than it was before she was hired then she isn't doing her job.

I have an idea as to why people hate her so much, but I’m not gonna say what I suspect that reason is.

Moving along...

I think Angela’s done a ****ing fantastic job with Apple Retail. I love the new motif of the stores (light, trees, materials...), and I’ve had better service with Apple in the last year than I’ve ever had with them.

She seems to really care about the experience, and I appreciate that about her. Apple has always been based on the “experience.” (The stores, unboxing, usage, etc.) I’m glad to see her attempt to bring some of that magic back in-store.

Kudos to Angela. I would love her as CEO.

Never trust a closed lip smile.
Prior to the 1960s, most people did not smile when photographed. If you smiled in a photo, people thought you were crazy. It's still that way in many parts of the world. You smile, you crazy.
[doublepost=1508954271][/doublepost]"Still, some employees have described their work as starting to feel "increasingly corporate" under Ahrendts."

That cracked me up. Did they think they were working for a start up?

I go to Apple stores to either look at and try out products, buy stuff or get stuff repaired. Not sure how to relate to anything of what she says in this video. Does this really resonate with anyone? "Building a relationship" – "No different than fashion" – "you trust what we're teaching you" – "someone you trust to make a better version of yourself" – Really?

Steve Jobs had taste and micromanaged. Bill Gates does not. Tim Cook does not. Angela Ahrendts has them.

Tim will be CEO of Apple for a decade like Steve Ballmer with Microsoft. I don't mind neo-feminism. Enjoyed Rey, Jyn Erso, and Wonder Woman.

Apple currently lacks vision and taste. Tim is more of an accountant. Not a leader. They need a shakeup on top. Jony Ive lost his mojo years ago.

LOL at trying to get business accounts. My employer was banned from buying Apple products from Apple stores a few years ago. So he went to B&H, who after a sale or two told him that Apple was, as a part of their reseller agreement, enforcing that B&H no longer sell hardware to my company. It was in the medical education market, with a few apps in the app store. The only work-around Apple offered was to become an Apple authorized retailer ourselves, which we couldn't afford to do. I don't think they've bought Apple hardware since.

She nor Jony would make good CEOs. I don't think they see enough of the big picture in all the other parts of the business. A COO and CFO are more natural fits because they deal with a lot more moving parts within the whole business. Although, I would hate to see any CFO run Apple. So I guess Jeff is next in line. God-forbid it be Phil. And I still don't know how Eddy is still employed.

It is.

Let me see. A redesign of some emojis. New softer t shirts. Sacred tables. $17/hr wages for worker drones. Not a computer in sight. Welcome to the new Apple.

First of all, $15 should be the minimum wage across the United States. Second, Apple workers have a lot of responsibility. Stores are always fast-paced, your work day is always non-stop, and you have to PLEASE these customera. Your job is to make them love Apple, have everything go smoothly, and get them to return or expand their products to more family and friends. Your job directly affects Apple’s bottom line and their customer loyalty. Definitely worth $17/hr from the wealthiest company or second wealthiest company in history.
