Angry IP Scanner gets kill 9 and terminates

I downloaded the Angry IP Scanner application and it auto unzipped. When I execute it, it aborts with signal 9.

system.log shows this

Has anyone successfully executed this application under Mavericks, and if so I wonder what it is that I'm doing wrong ?
