I am looking for an animated desktop background that looks like Leoard's bg (http://appleology.com/images/space-desktop.png). Does anybody know of anybody that makes these? Or if not, anybody have a really cool animated background you would like to share?

I hope you understand this will burn through your battery life as it runs on your GPU.

How do you use this? It's greyed out in my desktop settings pane.

I use wallsaver, you can get it from the Apple downloads page. Wallsaver allows you to use your screensaver as a desktop wallpaper.

Actually, I've found that Quartz Desktop works pretty well for that kind of think. It just sits in your menu-bar and has options for stop/start and can even allow you to edit the composition. It's free.

(It's a good idea to have the Leopard developer tools installed. Look on the OS install disk that came with your computer.)

Actually, this is one that I scrapped together and I think looks pretty spiffy. (See attachment).
(OK, nevermind; since there's a ridiculously low file size limit, I guess I'll have to upload it to somewhere else. I'll post the link here once I've done that.)

Its pretty funny how the banner background image for Mac desktops is pretty much the same as the default windows.
