Animations, highlights and some functions stop working

Just started yesterday. iMac 2.8, 4GB ram, Leopard. I'm starting to have issues with certain animations and things not working. Examples:

Dock - magnification just "stops"
Mouse - Menu highlights don't highlight
Dragging an icon can cause the icon to "stick" to the cursor, causing the need to relaunch Finder.

A few others, but these are the main ones. Any ideas? Machine has been running perfectly otherwise, and these issues just started cropping up yesterday. Nothing has changed, nothing new installed etc.

Actually, no, as my machine did not "require" it, and will not allow me to install it even manually. 🙂

All other updates have been done, and what's odd is, this literally just started. Kind of a head scratcher for me as I can usually find something I did that causes whatever glitch it is I'm having. 😀
