First, me and you are not in the same boat.
Second, who cares how much cost Android phones.
Third, because of people like you the companies allowing themself to charge this ridiculous amount of money.

Enjoy your new toy. 🙂

First, second and third. Your opinion of us being suckers cause we want to spend our money on whatever the heck we want means nothing. Far from suckers, or I guess the millions of us are all hyptonized by the big Apple corp huh. And Android having about the same cost flagship means most of us humans spent that much.

I hope not! they should keep it exclusive for the suckers that paying €1000 plus for a phone.
😀 Oh well. I spent 1k on the single device I use everyday multiple times a day. Its Not a bad thing to spend money on something that will get a significant amount of use everyday. I’ve seen people spend more and get less and no one calls them suckers. They can’t possibly be that much of a sucker if they can afford to spend 1k on a phone or someone was willing to loan them 1k for a phone.

You're a slave to one or the other. Just pick whatever works.

Personally, there is not a single Droid/Windows product in my house

You would think, but wasn't sure if there was a hardware component too that would restrict older iPhones.
On the basis that iOS allows Live Photos to play on phones from before the 6S, i’d guess the functionality to play them will be added natively via software. I can’t see why any hardware element would be needed to play an already rendered mini video...

So I was watching iJustine's unboxing/preview video and she kind of explained how this all works -- it's pretty much how maflynn described it. You can send the Animoji as a video or a frame as a sticker. I didn't know about the sticker. That's pretty cool actually being able to make a quasi-custom emoji expression.
