Looks like Anker has unveiled the 2nd gen E4.

Same 13000 mAh capacity, but all smart ports, and a flashlight. It's probably feeble, but I don't recall Anker ever putting a light in their battery packs.

It's gone from a squarish rectangular 2-tone to a slimmer all black form factor.

Was almost ready to order an E3, but this is only $4 more.

Anybody get their hands on one yet?

Hey seems like you're an expert with power banks.

What are the main factors in choosing a power bank?

Can you explain that the advertised capacity isn't really the true capacity because you have to factor in efficiency rate whatever that is.

    Anker Astro E4 2nd Gen

I would bit it is already explained much better from this guy:). I copied this from another thread. Credits to TEHi!
A few thing I would like to say:
1)How many times do you want the battery pack to charge your device(s) on one charge of the battery pack? (do you want it to charge an iPhone 2 times and an iPad once as an example.
2)How high is the efficiency rate of the battery pack?
3)How much do you want to spend?
4)Do the reviews say it is a good buy or recommended?

13000mah is a on the larger side of battery packs. If you only need 1 charge get a 3000mah battery pack, if you need 2 get a 5000-6000mah battery pack.

    I had the same concern.

I was debating between the E3 and E4, and while the extra 3000mAh would be nice, I think the shape of the E3 is easier to deal with. Slide it into a side pocket, etc.

The Li-polymer battery is probably a bit less likely to leak than the 18650 cells as well.

For me, I wanted something that could take care of an iPad and iPhone in the same package, which required something with high capacity.
