You can plug them in when you need to charge, or leave them plugged in all the time.
I'd be surprised if a USB cable plugged in to the charge port makes it weatherproof. Surely they have a cover or cap for the port, when it's not in use?

If you are really worried about this then do the following, and the silicone sealant which removes easily if you need it off later.

No, I'm not worried about it at all. I have PoE cameras that are, you know, designed to be weatherproof.

I was simply suggesting caution for those who might inadvertently test the weatherproof capabilities of a USB charging port on a $150 camera.

I also have PoE+ cameras as well. There are some areas that need cameras where running wires is not feasible, or and even bigger headache then it is worth. In my first comment I was saying someone could leave them wireless, and use the light fixture method to charge when needed while not taking the camera down. On an as needed basis not charging full time, removing the usb cable, and leaving the usb covered. The second post with the video is another option if you want to leave the usb connected full time. Your light fixtures are already weatherproofed so the part in the fixture is fine to leave year round for either option.

Yes! All of the security products work with Homekit - Please be aware that you can only connect at 1080 resolution instead of 2K which is advertised ... Eufy claims this is a limitation of HomeKit. I have both doorbell and security cameras around my home.

AFAIK Homekit support and Homekit Secure Video support are two separate items. Do you know if your doorbell supports the latter? Thanks!

If the cameras had a power cord it would have been better.
Visible cords (outdoors) is the first thing a home intruder would attempt to cut off.

Cordless cameras take a bit more work (like having to use a ladder) to grab and disable. I like the Eufy Cam E model’s feature where the instant the intruder grabs and moves the camera from its mount, the 100db siren goes off, in addition to an instant message alert to your phone app.
