Hi all,

Announce Messages on the Apple Watch was one of the watchOS 7 features I was very excited for. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get it to work consistently. The feature is simply missing.

The control center toggle is not there. I came across a thread on Reddit which had a temporary fix, whereby you change your Siri voice on the watch and after it is done downloading the announce messages toggle would appear in control center in the feature would work. After a Watch restart the feature once again went away and I haven’t been able to get it back.

My wife’s Siri 6 watch is also completely missing the feature.

Is anyone able to consistently get this feature to show up and work?

As an FYI I am on iOS 14.4 and watchOS 7.3 with a series 6 Apple Watch.

I’d like to see how many people are having this problem so I can present the information to Apple to hopefully get a bug fix.

Yep, I can’t get the toggle to show up no matter what type of headphones I have connected (Airpods Pro, Powerbeats Pro). And the way that it should work is that the setting should be there but just grayed out in control center if you don’t have headphones connected.

I got it to work once with the Reddit trick as well but then it went away after the restart.

I’m curious, I am on an Apple Watch 6 and my wife is as well. Those of you that have it are you on a series 6 or earlier?

Hi, I have the same problem. I have AW Series 3 with 7.4.1 and Airpods 2. The toggle does not appear. In the Siri Voices settings it always says "Waiting for download .." once the voice is downloaded, it puts the same thing again.
