Yup, I came here to post about this ad. I was logged out and viewing the main site in Safari and noticed it. Will take a look at other browsers. I noticed the same ad -- or at least one by the same company -- on the forums just before I logged in to post this message and it didn't overrun its boundaries.

The ad looks as though it works properly in Firefox/Camino and Opera. It's just affecting Safari on the main page. MacBook running 10.4.8 and Safari 2.0.4

Its on the top of the page now but its where it should be.

ok never mind just went to the main page and its overlapping.

Oh. That encompasses the front page, too? I've always received ads on the front page even when I've been logged in... I always assumed it only worked for the forums, because I don't receive ads there.

Yep, if you're logged into the forums, go to:

https://www.macrumors.com/members/

and that should give you no ads on the front page.

I don't mind most ads. This one was just really intrusive.
It wont even let you click on the Page 2, Buyers Guide or the Shop tab.

ya, I'm working on getting this one removed.

Camino blocks (most) ads if you go to Camino Preferences and turn on "Block web advertising" under the "Web Features" tab. Too bad Safari doesn't have this feature.

For obvious reasons, actively blocking ads on the site is frowned upon.

If you don't like seeing ads on this site, you can contribute to remove all ads.

We generally try to remove the more offensive ads. The one on this thread looks more like a odd design mistake than anything else.
