Since macOS Ventura, many dialog windows in System Settings have a persistent, annoying warning sound.

The attached short screen capture shows one of many such cases (when opening Details of the currently used network).

How can I disable these sounds in System Settings?

Thanks - desertman

sounds like a call. do you have whatsapp or something similar installed? do your phone calls come thru to your mac?

not sure why random system settings would make any sound. also check the accessibility settings, perhaps something there creating an audible cue.. (but that's just a guess)...

It's not a call. It starts e.g. when clicking onto Details of the currently used network and stops when clicking onto Cancel. The same pattern applies with quite a few other dialog windows in System Settings.

Do you have Ventura installed and don't get an alert sound when clicking onto Details of the currently used Wi-Fi network?

Is anybody here who has Ventura installed and can try to replicate this and then report whether they have such a sound or not?

Does not help.

I have two machines with Ventura and they don't make that sound when clicking on my wifi details.

OK, thanks. That tells me that I have to search for something weird with my system. I only recently changed to Ventura and have not fiddled at all with this system.

It must be something from an application that I used already in Catalina (and never caused such a sound then). It will be fun to try to find the culprit.
