Annoying beep when iMic connected

Hi,

I have the Griffin iMic but keep getting an 'Annoying' beep every 30 seconds when iMic is connected to Garageband or any other recording software, how can I stop this. I'm on Mac OS X 10.3.9 with a Sure SM58 Microphone.

Any help appreciated.
