I hate it when someone who knows nothing about Macs starts speaking out of their arse to their friend who is considering it...

"Uh yeah, the iMacs have a G6 chip now and can run Windows Server."

Deepdale, I think you are just picky, or easily put off by things. Someone pounding on the table can be annoying, sure, but it's not the end of the world. I thought you'd at least mention that it may not be good for the equipment which also has to endure these vibrations and sudden jolts (poor things aren't even able to complain!). That would have been a much more reasonable argument, IMO.

I get more annoyed by those using the Apple store purely as a free internet cafe to check their email (on their RTW backpacking trip) while complaining that they have to use iChat and maximising all the windows to make it more like a PC - with no intention of buying a Mac, and clogging up all the machines so that people who do want to buy one, or try out a piece of software can't.

My gripe is with people who get in a strop because I've just said "excuse me..." to them because they're standing in the way of something I want to buy.

The stores have all the cool accessories stuffed on shelves under the demo machines. Naturally, those benches are flooded with visitors. 9 out of 10 times, people are fine if I just ask for them to take a wee step to one side whilst I nab myself an iPod dock. But occasionally they'll look at you daggers just because you've dared to interrupt their high-volume JBL speaker test.

I suppose it's nice that the stores' layout encourages interaction between shoppers. But some people are nicer to interact with than others :D
