Annoying Mac typing quirk and how to resolve...

So I have some auto-replacements set up across my devices, for example "st" changes to "at". The annoying thing is when I WANT to type "At" I have to move the mouse and click on the tiny X that shows up...

Is there any way to accept St just using the keyboard?? It really breaks my flow having to use the mouse!

I mean... that's just how it is, if your "Shortcut" isn't always a shortcut.

I use a prefix, such as / or ; or ` for my shortcuts.

I may be misunderstanding the context you're describing, but try the esc key.
