Has anyone else come across this individual?

Every few days I'll do a generic powerpc search on Youtube to see if anything interesting has been posted but recently this guy's videos are always present - this is an example of his format and the few I've clicked on seem to contain the same banal and vague "solutions,"

Looking at his channel, he sometimes releases these videos at the rate of 400 per hour - so they're obviously script generated - I thought Youtube had a policy about such things or are they more interested in policing our opinions nowadays?

Another reason to avoid "PooTube".

I don't share most people's emnity for Youtube - to me it's an invaluable resource.

Apart from entertainment - music, shows & films (especially obscure and unavailable elsewhere) and blogs, I use it constantly for documentaries, interviews, travelogues, news items, reviews, how-to and fix-it guides.

Maybe because I haven't owned a TV for 15 years it bridges that gap ;)

I certainly enjoy particular aspects of YouTube but its noticeably diminished in many areas since the inevitable megacorporation acquisition by Google and the understandable acquiescences regarding copyright issues - which has the effect of lessening the prospect of viewing obscure and commercially unavailable content.

Earlier this year, I gave up using it for a while because my adblocker became temporarily ineffective and the volume of adverts that I was bombarded with - even during a ten minute clip, grew frustratingly unbearable.

It is to me too - "PooTube" was meant to refer to just the wealth of crap content that is unfortunately also on there.

Along with the wealth of toxicity to be found in the comments section of nearly any video. In the interests of protecting my sanity and blood pressure, I now mainly avoid it like the plague.

LOL. I once commented on one of those videos "So, how exactly does it feel to get no views a video when you are pumping out so many...?" But I then realized it was probably a script generating these, is there some way to monetize the sheer number of videos you put up? There must be....And regarding the comments section, yeah its toxic, but I do learn something from other users on occasion. I am always horrified when someone doing a Snow Leopard video is running Firefox 17 or Chrome 35 and says "Unfortunately there are no supported browsers for Snow Leopard any more", when we have Wicknix's 10.6.8 browser arsenal at our disposal. I am equally amazed when I comment: "Here are all the supported browsers for Early Intel Macs" I get no likes and no replies from the content creator. Then I realize these people don't actually USE their early intel macs, its all just mindless infotainment to them. I recall someone smarter than me once noted it doesn't take any brain cells to buy a MacbookPro, dude, and get online with it.

Keeping with the theme of social media, this was brought home to me when I was looking for a 2011/2012 13" MBP and I asked a seller on Facebook Marketplace to check if "the little port just after the USB ones" had a lightning symbol above it (this was so I could ensure that it wasn't a 2010 C2D MBP.)

They responded that they'd have to ask a friend to help them look for it because they had no idea as to what I "was talking about."

I find it useful, particularly for software tutorials. There are some very good channels too.
The trend I see is when a channel gets popular in a certain subject (say for example, mustard's for airplane nuts), you can see others on the same subject appear trying to surf on their success, with less quality. Worst been these script generated ones of course. But it's reassuring in a way, cause it shows that if someone makes crap script generated PPC videos, then it must be that other true quality PPC videos are somewhat successful.
True the adds is been very invasive. And yes , just don't go into the comments...

For higher quality, I like Vimeo, but difficult to find an obscure vid about installing a weird system on a Powerbook 1200c there ... where on the tube, you can still find these kind of things.

My best anecdote - when buying a Nokia 9210 Communicator for the collection.

Me: is the big screen working?
Seller: what are you talking about?
Me: if you open the lid - does the big screen work?
Seller: open the lid? how?
Me: like a laptop!
Seller: really?
Me: yeah!
Seller: I don't want want to break it. Really?
Me: YEAH!
Seller: OK I did that - how do I see if the screen works?
Me: does it display anything?
Seller: uh... Yeah. I think so.

Argh.
