An annoying widget has appeared on the screen of my iPhone 11. I attach an image, and I hope that you can see the widget near the lower right-hand corner, just above the Music icon. How can I get rid of it ?

It almost looks third-party, rather than something generated by iOS.

Have you tried long-pressing on it?

That looks like the icon for the Zoom Controller. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Zoom and see if it's toggled on.

I have followed that path, and switched off all of the choices except Zoom itself. The widget is still there. If one presses the widget, it reveals that, reading clockwise from 12 o'clock, the widget reads Notification Centre, Device, Control Centre, Home, Siri, Contacts.

Did you also disable Settings > Accessibility > Tap > AssisitiveTouch?
While the icon itself looks unfamiliar, the quoted menu items when pressing it, resemble AssistiveTouch.

I have just now disabled Assistive Touch, and my iPhone has frozen. Ouch...

Oh, so AssistiveTouch was active before?
However, like @Sital said, the icon itself looks like the icon of
Settings > Accessibility > Zoom > Zoom-Controller > On

Maybe it was/is a bug that merged both functions. iOS 16 messed Accessibility up quite a bit.
