Normally I suggest buying, not waiting for an upcoming model. However Apple TV is a different bird.

I am very happy I went with the ATV 4. My number one App is Channels which give me Live TV and while still in beta it has integration with the HDHomeRun DVR. I have sense return 2x DVR's and 2x STB and ALL my TV's only have 1 box attached. This has worked great for my.
There is a lot to like about ATV 4 and the App Store. Remember the old saying with the iPhone. "There is an App for that". The ATV 4 is adding new apps slower but I think over the next year there will be more and more. I am very happy so far.
