but when a larger iPhone comes out I think the rMini will be obsolete.

An 8" tab wont make a 5" screen phone obsolete. Rumours have the iphone 6 will have a 5" screen. Many will think on paper, oh 3" is not that much larger, but it is. You actually have to try them to see the difference and advantage a 8" tab still has. I have a 5" screen phone and the mini gives me at least double the screen real estate cause I go from a 16:9 5" screen to a 4:3 8" screen.

Yes. 4.9" to 7.9" is exactly the golden ratio step (7.9/4.9 = 1.612, very close to magic Phi = 1.618). It's a significant step, yet not too small and not too large.

You know how some shallow staircases on the streets feel awkward because you can't just walk on them, it's like one and a half steps forward, one down? Yet other staircases feel completely natural. Same with the spacing of screen sizes. 1.6x multiplier is just perfect.

4.9" iPhone 6, 7.9" rMini (1.61x step up), and 13.3" rMBP (1.68x step up), is my dream setup for late 2014. :) At least, in Apple ecosystem. :D

I posted this the other day, here is my Nexus 5 with the rmini, compliments it and a 13" MBP perfectly.
If anyone still believes the rmini isnt that much bigger and will become obsolete is out of lunch.

And the Nexus 5 with the air. You can see how ridiculously huge the air is to a 5" screen phone.
