My S5 seems to be drawing a lot of juice recently.

I wear it to bed to track my sleep, but when I wake up, it’s usually on around 72%. That’s from 100%. That seems overboard to me

any ideas?

thx

Try restarting the watch. Sounds like a stuck process.

Also, would you say that the device loses same amount of battery in normal day to day use?! I mean when you’re sleeping the watch is still pretty much 100% functional unlike phones and tablets where generally the screen is the biggest battery drainer and when you’re using them you’re actively doing something on the device, which is not the case for a watch.

I restart it nearly daily anyway

On a side note, an alternative brand "expensive" smartwatch has just come into our household.. 46mm size, so a big old screen size.. Its currently on 47% battery and hasn't been charged since Tuesday.. OF LAST WEEK!!! That's right, they promised 2 weeks battery and boy are they delivering. And it's not one of those that just sits idle with a blank screen, during lockdown we are going for long walks everyday, so the GPS tracker is in full effect.. My thoughts on what's capable out of a watch battery have changed forever... All the major players should be hitting these numbers if one of them can...

My Garmin Fenix 3 still gets ~20 days battery with its AOD (I never use the GPS anymore on it) but it's more a fitness tracking device and not a computer/communication device like AW so I don't hold it against my AW 🤣

The device I am refencing in question is every bit as smart as the AW, it's deffo more than a glorified fitbit. And an absolute beautiful piece of kit to boot.

I use my watch for sleep tracking as well. I recommend you put the watch in airplane mode and theatre mode. Using this method I only use 7 - 8% during the night.

Of interest what is the other expensive device you tefer
I'm not coming on an apple forum and saying product X is better, what I'm saying is that decent battery performance is now available and we should all be allowed access. Thinking that a day and a half battery life is all we can hope for shouldn't be considered the norm. I used to have a gear S2 watch, and thought 2 days was good. Now I reliase its rubbish!!
