Just installed steam on my mac to be able to play CS:GO on a LAN, however I'm getting an average 13 FPS....

What is up with this? I'm seeing this youtube movies where people can play CS:GO without any issues on a Mac with the intel HD 4000.

My Macs specs:
13" MBP Mid 2012
i5 2,5 ghz
4 GB RAM
Intel HD 4000 with 1024 MB

Edit: I've got windows on running on this Mac, don't know if that does anything....

My bad, posted this at the gaming section.

Are you playing the game in OSX or Windows? Either way the HD4000 can handle it, but it is better in Windows, especially as Yosemite really seems to have upset gaming performance.

To get it running right in Yosemite I found the best thing is to cap the framerate. The easiest way to do this is to turn 'laptop power saving' on in the options. You can also do it more precisely using an autoexec if you know how to do that. I suggest capping at 60FPS, this prevents the framerate spiking up and down from 200 to 10 - something which is a big issue in Yosemite for me. You can also try the normal things, drop the detail, drop the resolution etc.
