Another LTE compatibility in ASIA

I am going to order a Verizon iphone 5S, and wondering if LTE works with local sims in Asia, especially in South Korea.
I checked on apple website, looks like LTE 5, 38, 39, 40 are not listed for US Verizon version.
A specific carrier does not use all LTE bands, so it is confusing..
Anyone had a success using an asian local sims with your US iphone?

My unlocked 5s works in HK. I have LTE service with my local sim. If you use prepaid local sims you won't get LTE service.
