Got a base model 8gb ram & 128gb SSD space grey and here is my 2 cents worth...

Screen - Coming from a 11 inch MBA, the retina display is definitely a welcome upgrade. When side by side with a MBP, the difference in brightness is definitely noticeable. However under normal office lighting, 50 - 60% is my optimum brightness for comfortable usage. Have not test it under direct sunlight yet.

Ram - Opened 6 tabs on chrome, 2 tabs on safari, spotify and excel, 8GB ram is able to handle everything smoothly.

Keyboard - Quiet, short key travel distance and comfortable to type on

Touch ID - Super fast and convenient. Love it!

128GB SSD - MBA came with around 100GB of usable memory. After installing some basic apps, microsoft office (which needs 9GB i don't know why) and transfer some of my work data over, I am left with 70GB. This makes me slightly conscious about my hard disk usage. This is also the reason why I am returning my current base model and getting a 256GB model tomorrow. Will highly recommend most people to get 256GB at least.

Space Grey - Color is always a personal preference. However SG gets boring after a few days. Since I am planning to return for a higher capacity model, most likely I will choose gold instead.

For my light usage, definitely no regrets getting the new MBA. However given current file size, 128GB for laptop is clearly insufficient. Hopefully in the future, Apple can provide 256gb for their base model.

Under normal load, it is warm but comparing to my other work machine Surface Pro, it is less warm
