Not necessarily. There are a lot of things that go into lens sales and for many people extra reach wins most of the time. In this case, it'd be an either/or choice, and the 70-200 is a traditional focal length, so the newcomer won't gain much in terms of sales because it's trying to enter an established niche. A 50-200 would do better than a 50-150 IMO.

The 50-150 DX is the traditional 70-200 FX.

Anyway, the point of the discussion is a 50-150 FX.
 
The 80-200 was even tighter today.

I will bring the Tamron 35-105 next time to see if it's possible to live with the speed.

If it is usable, I guess I will have to get a D300 to go with it, and a 50-150 DC to complement it.
