So, here's another odd thing that is happeneing to me with my powerbook. Every time i turn the computer off and on, my Macintosh HD folder moves to the bottom right of the screen. I, of course, wanting it to be placed on the top right, move it back where it belongs. But once i turn the computer off and on again, it ends up in the spot where I don't want it. Any ideas?

try going to Finder> View then click on "Show View Options."
Then check keep arranged by Name (or whatever you want). I hope this works, it does for me with no moving. One very irritating thing tho is that if you have too many files/docs on the Desktop and have icons arranged by something, files will start piling up on top of the Macintosh HD symbol, so it's hard to choose one in particular; you have to uncheck arrange by whatever then drag each file individually off of the symbol. cheers
