See Im kinda screwed when it comes to this decision. I really need the 17" b/c it needs to be a desktop replacement and I think its really sexy, but it will be for colllege and if I find my self wanting to type notes in class I deffinatley wolnt want to with the 17". Now I know you guys are gonna say "whats the problem just get the 12"", but Im pretty obsessed with the 17" and If I dont end up wanting to take notes in class or find it not that big of a deal ill regret not getting the 17".(dont really like the 15")

Get the 17" or I think you will wind up regretting it. Believe me, you'll get used to the size very quickly and it really isn't as big of an issue as you think. :)

Sounds like there is no problem here then!!!!
I loved the look of the 17"...
was also mostly going to use it as a desktop replacement - but I wanted portability as well...
I thought rationally about the 15 and the 12 (albeit briefly)...

and bought the 17!

LOVE IT! No regrets here!

I got my 1.33GHz 15" PB two weeks ago, and I love it, love it, love it!
I wouldn't worry too much about the weight difference in determining which way to go. I mean, after you load down your bag with the PB, cables, mouse, and all the other miscellaneous accoutrements you'll be hauling around, the extra pound or so makes no difference [think deck chair off the Titanic].

The only thing you ought to consider is usage. Will the extra sreen real estate be worth it? Will you feel cramped by the extra size of the 17" beast? Answer these questions, and you'll know what to do.

I think I have seen more ppl get the 15" and regret not getting the 17" than ppl that get the 17" and regret that they didnt get the 15". That being said, I will probally end up getting the 17". I hope I dont want to take notes in class with a computer cuz I deffinatly wolnt with the 17".

I'd go with the 15". It's a good mix of size and portability, especially considering you want to take your laptop to presentations.
