I tried to take two similar photos at the same time. Just by looking at them, can you tell which one is from a 6 plus and a 5s? Are we reaching a plateau in regards to picture quality?

Look pretty much the same. But it also seems they aren't the raw pics? The six series takes higher resolution images than this.
This is not even as large as the Monet effect, which is an artifact produced by the 6/6+.
Look the same to me. Agree about the low light tho that is probably a difference (I wouldn't think a huuuuuge difference but should be a difference nonetheless)

I just did a bit of a different comparison.
iPhone 6 Plus vs iPhone 4s. The results are rather surprising. The winner is obvious in low light. But in good lighting, the 4s has a bit more detail. It's a lot sharper and doesn't suffer from the "Monet" effect like the 6 Plus does. Pretty funny. Thin lines such as those on printed money are sharper and easier to make out on the 4s.
Of course, I'd much rather have the 6 plus for it's great low light performance and speed. Just making an observation.
