    New to all this--

I have less than 500 photos and no storage issues on rMBP or iPhone 6+

    1. I have turned on iCloud Photo Library on my rMBP after setting up all my Albums and Folders. Chose "Download Originals to this Mac". My only two issues are--

    a. My Events Folder has not populated anything, neither did a Folder I created on the rMBP Photo OS X Library where I put some Albums. With so few pics I thought I would see something. And there is no indication anything is uploading. Should I file a BugReport, or to soon.

    b. The pics when viewed from iCloud on my rMBP appear much poorer resolution than when viewed from Photo Library on rMBP. Is that normal? Thought iCloud Photos were all full resolution.

    2. I know if I turn on iCloud Photo Library on my iPhone 6+ all photos will be sent to cloud and removed from iPhone. What will my iPhone Library look like when I open the iPhone 6+ Photo app after all uploading completed? Just like Photo OS X Library on my rMBP?

Some of this scares me since I have no storage issue, but like to play with new things.

Your best way to back up the iCloud Library Storage?

I can drag the entire Photo Library on rMBP to my external. Or some other way?

    Thanks for your indulgence--:)

Oh, my photos have been taken with a Canon SureShot and several different SmartPhones. I do use iTune as a BackUp for Photos.

All my photos seem to be in Photo Library on the rMBP and in iCloud. Nothing missing.

Not sure if any of that matters when I turn iCloud Photo Library on, on my iPhone 6+

I guess I figured this one out--

    b. The pics when viewed from iCloud on my rMBP appear much poorer resolution than when viewed from Photo Library on rMBP. Is that normal? Thought iCloud Photos were all full resolution.

The pics in iCloud are compressed, but downloaded in full res. This is different from what I read in various articles.

Well even with lack of advice I plunged ahead and turned iCloud Photo Library on, on iPhone also.

All seems well. populated over nite.

iPhoto Events Folder still doesn't populate on iCloud, not sure I care about it anyway.
