I really want to keep this machine but I keep running into things that remind me that we're beta testing it for Apple...

Try going to this site - http://paranorman.com or actually any site that uses that new parallax scrolling effect that seems to be getting more popular.

Glitchy huh? At least on my machine, I was getting images popping in and out... This was in Mountain Lion too. Funny thing is if I open the same sites on a Windows VM running on the same computer, it handles it a lot smoother! To me that says it's something that can hopefully be handled in a software update...

Running out of time to decide whether to keep it or not though...

I wish I could help you, but both of those web sites run perfectly fine on my RMBP 2.6/16/512 under ML in Safari 6. Scrolling is smooth and I don't notice anything unusual. I respectfully suggest that the issue you are experiencing is being caused by something else. I am running in 1920x1200 scaled mode.

Man, must be my machine then...

So, in the paranorman site, you don't see any image glitching when you scroll from side to side?

I also get a bit of lag when scrolling.

Try switching to discrete graphics - I did that and the website works fine!

I get the sliiightest flicker on my iMac... so it's very possible that the issue is with Safari itself rather than your hardware setup.

[EDIT] Or with the css / javascript of the site itself.

base rmbp + 16gb ram running ML.

in safari 6, its smooth but definitely random glitchiness.

in latest chrome stable, theres no glitch but not smooth at all.

safari: when i switch to integrated only, i actually get less glitches. its more glitchy on discrete.

quite obvious people here have no idea how to test something or just lie to themselves.

and then there are the people who say it runs perfectly and then follow up and say "oh wait theres flicker but i dont mind it". ignore those idiots.

loaded the website up and first off its great... closed the window read the rest of this thread, jumped back onto the site and I get the street image twitching left and right quickly on integrated or discreet... surely its a software issue.

What do you mean by twitching? I don't see any flashing.

when I was swiping left and right to navigate the street view, the image would twitch/skit left and right very very quickly.. not the image flashing...

actually just tried again and I cannot replicate it, seems simply refreshing the page cures most problems.
