Another Time Capsule Question

Hi Guys,
First of all im sorry if this questions has already been answered but i cannot find it anywhere.

I am considering buying a Time Capsule to backup my MBP and iMac, not sure what size yet though mybe the 1TB, anyway when i do the backups of my machines can i still use the time capsule to store other files or another way of putting it is can i use it for time machine on both machines and also an external Hard Drive?

Yes, the Time Machine piece is just a file on the hard drive. The rest of the hard drive is mountable/usable as well.
