Love. It's what makes a Subaru a Subaru.
Go with honda!!!

You can't go wrong with either really. I own a Subaru and I love it. **** tears up roads no matter if they are wet, dry, dirt, or even snow in the winter. I've driven thru 12+ inches of powder in my Legacy.

My mother owns a CR-V and it's quite nice as well. The Subaru has a better feel while driving though... that AWD makes it feel like it's on a roller coaster track when turning. It's awesome.

Lots of useful input - thank you!

I did a little poking around looking at Subarus when I was doing my search, and I just haven't found any that I really find visually appealing. Maybe I haven't looked closely enough? I would be open to a Subaru SUV in the $20k and below price range, under 45k miles, with a moonroof. I haven't really seen any though.

I'm leaning towards the Ford because it's a great cross section of style, features, MPG, and price/positive equity. Though I still need to get a Carfax report on it. That will really tell the tale.

After the Ford, I'm slightly leaning towards the Rav4. It's a year newer, and I really like the exterior styling better. Though the CR-V is a great value at the price they have it at. Ugghhh, decisions, lol.

Damnit, nevermind, the Ford was sold. Not surprised considering it was priced $4k+ below NADA retail. Oh well, I'm not in a hurry or a "must buy" situation. I'll keep looking around.

Yeah that crv looks terrible with the spare tire on the back. They changed that for the 2009 model year and did another redesign in 2012 I think. The latest version looks way better.

But I still don't like those tail lights going all the way up to the roof, for one thing.

Agreed, I'm not a huge fan of the tall taillights. I would say though that the 3rd gen CRV is the one I prefer the most. The 2nd gen has the extra wheel attached to the tailgate, which I'm not a fan of, and the 4th gen just seems a bit longer and the taillights have an even more curved, "sideways V" type shape to it. I looked it up and the 4th gen is only about an inch longer than the 3rd gen, but it feels more stretched out. I think the way the taillights are shaped adds to that effect.

My mom has a CR-V, been running trouble free since 1999 except for some normal maintenance. Paint looks like ****, but mechanically the best car we've owned. Compared to my MINI Cooper S, which I won't get into.
