    Here's my problem:

Every time my phone rings, and the little "slide to answer" bar comes up on the bottom of the screen, I will swipe my finger across it, but it refuses to register right away, if at all. It just continues to vibrate and sit there, looking all stupid. The only thing that gets it to register that I actually want to ANSWER the phone is by pressing the home button. And even then, sometimes it doesnt work. It'll lag for a little bit, then occasionally realize that I intended to talk to the other person.

If, for some reason, I try to hit the answer button (or the answer slider) twice before it registers, it will immediately freak out, hang up, and go back to the home screen. And sometimes, if not most of the time, it refuses to go to voicemail. It just sits there, ringing, like a jerk.

That is the summary of my problem. I never had this problem before I updated to the official 2.0 firmware, but this is an especially frustrating problem.

iPhone EDGE, 8-gig capacity, 2.0 firmware.

So is the touchscreen defective, or is it the phone software? ie, if you use your headphones with the mic to try answer the call, does that work?

Something tells me that it's not the touchscreen, since every program I have works in that area of the screen, including my 3 App Store apps, the text messaging, iPod, etc.

It's gotta be some sort of stupid glitch, but thanks to the fact that I'm awesome and rushed out on the first day to buy an iPhone 2G, my warranty is currently expired. I'm praying it's something that can be fixed relatively easily.
