If you have any shrubs growing close to the exterior of where you live, trim them so there is 1-2 feet of space in between the shrubs and walls. This reduces trapped moisture which definitely attracts ants!

Well, point taken about precautions right now. I'd wager that such companies have taken extra precautions though. And, if you discuss an allergy problem with them, they'd probably be able to give you more information about the after effects of treatments.
