I think it's new... and I don't mind if it's loud. My MBP get's hot a lot because I do a lot of 3d and video.

It's not loud, but certainly not silent.

Just use the low setting.

If you don't mind about the noise, there is no problem. A few weeks ago I bought Lapcool. It isn't silent (about 25 dBA), but the temperature dropped by more than 10 degrees C.

That's nicely designed, but I find the placement of the fan... mmm... horrible. My MBP tends to get hot near the back/top end, not in the middle. Also, that article is a year old... where is it?

I think that it isn't worth $90. Cooling pad with similar features you can buy cheaply.
