yep^^ thats pretty much all you need to do to secure your mac plus turn on the firewall.

seriously vixen theres no point in using AV for Mac OS X... just sit back relax and enjoy using your mac! :)

if you do happen to download a windows virus dont worry it wont do anything as Mac OS X wont understand it. there may be a chance you could email it to other pcs though so if your worried about that use clamxav.

You don't need anti-virus or spyware apps on a Mac. Great eh? :D

If you want Anti-virus is probably worth getting. Intego Antivirus is pretty good, Clam XAV was very slow last time I used it, but it is free.

Computing Sensibly is still really important on the Mac though.

i agree dont be going installing browser video codecs from some random website. all you need is flip4mac and flash which is already installed.

There are a few problems with it though:

    a) Its from 2005, computer virus problems have evolved and the Mac platform has grown a lot.

    b) It is essentially a rant that Norton Anti Virus for Mac is bad and causes more problems than its worth, which is true.

What about Perian and real player.

I personally don't use AV, just safe practises such as running from a non admin account. If there is a virus you would probably find out about it on here very quickly.
