I've used the app Antisocial for a while now and never had a problem, but recently I (finally) updated my operating system to Yosemite, and in the process had to update Antisocial. Since then, even though the app timed out (and I then deleted it), I still can't get to my "blocked" sites. It's like this on every web server that I've tried (Chrome, Safari, etc.). It's been days and I can't get on Facebook, Tumblr, YouTube, etc. on my laptop at all! Two friends tried to help me with this but we can't fix it. We tried going through Activity Monitor, uninstalling and reinstalling my web browsers-- nothing. Again, I've even completely deleted the app from my laptop so I don't understand how it can still be blocking these sites! Any thoughts or advice much appreciated.

I (kind of, not really) fixed it!

OK, an update for anyone who had the same problem as me: I still can't get the app to turn off properly, but I did realize that if you quit and restart the app, you get to re-confirm which sites you want to block during your antisocial period. So I removed all the sites I actually want to access from the block list, and, since I had to block something, I Googled "best bar mitzvah caterers" and blocked the 50th result. (Sorry, Jacques Caterers. Also, if I ever have a 13-year-old Jewish son, sorry to him too). Then I deleted the app yet again; the bar mitzvah catering site is still blocked but at least when the app is deleted I don't get constant notifications from antisocial.

It's not perfect, because I have no formal training, but if anyone else is having the same problem as me this can help you regain your sanity!

I had the same problem even after trying manual deletion. Its because AntiSocial isn't compatible with Yosemite. I emailed the developer and they send me a link to a block remover app which I ran and fixed in seconds. Seems like this is the only quick and easy way to fix it.

In your initial post you said you deleted the software from your computer. How did you reinstall it so that you could add/remove new blocked sites? It seems the only way to do this is by paying for it again.
