It actually does matter what they're doing, and how they're using the device. If you're telling me and everyone else that a thirteen year old girl that is constantly on snapchat and Facebook is a power user, I'm sure I'm not the only one that will tell you you're wrong. You can be as condescending about it as you want, but you're simply off the mark on this.

A power user is someone that's very experienced with the OS, and uses it for a variety of advanced tasks. That's not my definition - that's the definition from a variety of sources that a quick Google can provide you with.

For me, an actual power user, that includes document creation, invoicing, handling finances, managing a supply chain, heavy audio work with GarageBand and other apps, and video work with iMovie and others. I run an entire business from my iPhone, and it handles everything pertaining to it other than web design and photoshop work.
People can define it how they want to. For me a power user is somebody who is hammering their device 24/7 doing several different things on it. From social to productive work

I think that and being very experienced with the OS goes hand in hand. People who are on their device a lot will likely know a lot about tech and the OS they are using.

That's a much better explanation, and in a lot of ways I'd agree with it.

In fairness I could of explained it a lot better and sometimes how you mean it comes off differently on forums like in texts
Definitely - text doesn't always convey like an actual conversation.

I definitely see your point though - intense use with familiarity can be seen as power use.

I do wish apple would open up some more features on the Plus model that would be a little more supportive of that though. It would be really nice, in my opinion, to have some split screen options like on the iPad. While I haven't found that a necessity, I think it would be a good addition. I can think of a lot of times I'd use it, as it was common for me to do on the Note 5 I had.

I would look forward to spilt screen I must admit. I wouldn't use it loads but sometimes there are times when it could be useful.

Likewise on my note I used it a fair bit

Just hope ios 10 comes with some useful additions

Me too. I feel like iOS 9 sort of left the Plus a bit neglected, so I'm hoping it gets some love with iOS 10.

I think I'd most use split screen in conjunction with messages and mail. It would make it really easy to actively be working on something, finding reference pics or links, and similar tasks, and then sending them right to the person via mail or an iMessage.

There are rumours of a UI change so maybe icons will look different? I really hope so. Would least mix it up abit and make things less stale so to speak.

Yeah say you are in photos and you want to just drag it down to imessage for example. That I would use.

Exactly. Simple touches like that would be excellent.

At the same time though, I could see that making the Plus models more viable to people over iPads. Not everyone, but to some. For me, the few things I miss about having an iPad would likely fade, and for others that may also be the case. Knowing Apple, they may intentionally leave the Plus models a little more limited to prevent more cannibalization of the iPad.

True, thats the thing with apple they think of the bigger picture so who knows what they may think that might relate to sales as the sales aren't what they are hoping for the ipad right now.

I know many young and older people that are glue 24\7 to their phones and they are the least techie people i know, just coz they using day 'n night social media, messages apps and media consumption, they still using their devices\OS on a basic level. I wouldn't call them 'power users'...

I still use my iPad as a laptop when I need something smaller than my MacBook Air to bring around. It has a keyboard attached to it and everything. Very convenient for note taking for work or school.

I still have my iPad Air2. It's pretty much my "tv" since I don't have cable. All i need is Movie Box, Youtube, and Twitch.

Did at first (when I got the 6 Plus) but then I realized the iPhone is still a "little" device & doesn't replace an iPad while watching videos. So got myself a mini 4, even with the "small" difference, I still prefer the iPad over the iPhone to watch youtube videos or netflix shows. And lastly it makes me use my iPhone battery a little less...

I suppose one thing that has made it easier on me to switch is the fact that I don't watch a whole lot of online video - little YouTube, no Netflix, Hulu, or similar.

It seems like video is the main draw to the larger screen for many of you. Are there any that have found the need for an iPad in addition to the Plus outside of video?

I prefer to use my iPad (either the 9.7 or the 12.9) when participating in forums, when doing extensive web searching, watching videos, etc., etc. I tend to keep the iPhone mainly for phone calls, checking emails when out away from home, playing solitaire while waiting for an appointment, etc. My iPads are both much easier to read on and also to type on, plus they use the standard format rather than the mobile format for websites and forums.

Wife and I both have had an iPad Mini 2 and an iPhone 6+. Throughout day we use the iPhone 6+ and usually the iPad is used at home, right before bed for movies, browsing, reading, sending memes (by the wife).

We upgraded to the 6s+, I got an iPad Mini 4, wife is saving up for an iPad Pro.

I use iPad for reading news, books, and anything video related. I also prefer to game on my iPad so I don't have to charge my iPhone as often (clash of clans, celtic tribes, Ingress).

Also use iPad for Facetime - and like other posters here mentioned, everything is connected so I can call, text, etc... from any device.

I got my 6s plus and while I like it a lot there is no way it would replace my ipad. It's tiny compared to the ipad, closer in size to the se than an ipad mini even. Even the ipad mini I use as a navigation device, not remotely close enough in size to replace it.

Since I travel a lot for work it nice just to have one unit that does everything I need in one device

I strongly considered doing this for a year becomes the 6 Plus was huge and the iPad had no real differentiator aside from a nice larger screen. However, I never liked the Plus' size for on the go use.

All this changed with iPad Pro and iOS 9. I take my device with a keyboard (now an ASK) to class to take notes, which is not acceptable with the iphone, I use split view and (most importantly) have the Apple Pencil.

Now the iPad has differentiated itself and can do things the iPhone can't. Now I have no issues justifying it and with an iPad for semi-mobile use, I went with an iPhone SE for super mobility and ease of use.

Since MacRumors is having issues right now, I will just post this instead of editing my previous message.

I much prefer this over my iPhone, although as I mentioned my iPhone is capable.

Can't imagine that's very safe, not to mention extremely unsightly. I could never drive with that thing in the car, unless you're an Uber driver or something.
