I love how the BB commercials advert BBM! I love it! you can text.. really? so does every other phone! Oh but you can see if they read it..

Okay stalker.

Oh please it's the same nonsense.

Yes, we all do that every day:)

I was not inferring that everyone would have a use for it, I was just pointing out one possible scenario where BBM like apps have a use. The person I was originally responding to made a typical knee jerk response. ;)

if texts used up data, then you would have an argument. but until that happens (which it won't because the company's want more $), BBM > text messaging.

when i had BBM, i loved talking to (texting pretty much) my cousin in the US. i DID NOT have to buy international texts, neither did he. now we just send each other emails, does the job but i would prefer to send texts.

So I am trying to understand this statement. You need to use BBM to find out what someone is doing because you don't have phones?

No, if we did not have phones, how else would we use a BBM like app? Another example, a tech could be with a user in the user's office. The user is on a business call. You can't use your cell phone while in the user's office to talk to another technical area when trying to resolve an issue which might a Acct. Admin, resetting a SecurID, etc. The Audio Visual people who monitor certain types of conferences may be actually in the conference room when the conference is taking place monitoring the sound and visuals. This is another case where making a phone call is not the way to go. Once again, I am just pointing out some possible uses. Just because a particular person on these boards has no use for it does not make is useless.
