Just curious whether there will be a thread where beta testers post their experiences with new features? I’m not part of the beta, but I always enjoy reading about their experiences.

Have it on mine. Still messing around with it. Let me know if there’s something you want me to test
How stable is it? I’ve been thinking about installing it on my Vision Pro for the new features, but mainly the iPhone unlocking with Vision Pro. I use my Vision Pro every day for work, so I’m interested in the stability of the beta and if the iPhone unlocking feature works. Also is the annoying predictive text window that pops up every time you try to type when Mac mirroring fixed? For me it always gets in the way of my hands when I’m typing on a Mac laptop.

How does Spatial Scene work? Is it a replacement for the 2D to 3D conversion we got last year?
Can a native Spatial Photo be converted to a Spatial Scene? I guess I’m confused how all that works. The Keynote was pretty quick on that topic.

I installed it yesterday but I’m just getting into looking at everything in iPadOS, VisionOS and MacOS 26 now.

Yesterday was all about testing iOS since I did break ever rule that exists and installed it on my daily driver.

I’ve never let that stop me with previous iOS developer betas. I work in IT so if I can’t get past some bugs in iOS on my personal phone with a fully working company phone that runs Android as a backup phone, then I need to look for a different line of work. 😉

Sorry for the late reply. So far, it is super smooth, smoother than iOS, and iPadOs. I have the beta installed on my Mac but haven’t used it yet(I am however using the ultra wide on my Vision to type this out). The predictive text does seem to pop up but I am glad to report that it seems that if you move it out of sight, it stays there! The iPhone unlocking is fantastic. Super seamless.

Edit: I may have gotten a bit too excited. The predictive text window did pop back up. Everything else still stands.

Spatial scenes is really cool! I will say that it does take a second for certain websites to make their photos go spatial, but when it finally does, it adds a really nice touch to the web browsing experience. I have to tinker with it more before I can go into more depth. I will say though, my biggest gripe is using spatial browsing on my couch…for some reason the web browser isn’t something you can move around freely? I can only adjust it horizontally. Even when I hold the crown it doesn’t adjust vertically based on my head orientation.

Favorite feature so far, is the widget snapping! I added a few windows to my living room, dining room and basement. It’s a surprisingly cool feature. The one feature I am 50/50 on is the eye scrolling. Sometimes it’s flawless, sometimes it’s a bit finicky. I don’t hate it though. And as I mentioned before, the iPhone unlocking is super cool. It hasn’t failed yet on me, but there are instances where it takes a bit of a while to register that I have my Vision Pro on. But hey, it’s a beta.

Update: In bed now watching a movie… it’s dark and my hands appear even with the lights off… but they look like ghost hands? It’s a bit eerie.

I’m impressed that they actually incorporated the Spatial Scenes into Safari. Can’t wait to see that. Any experience yet using them in the Photos app? Thanks for all the details!

Spacial scenes and spacial browsing are two different things. The above posts are describing spacial browsing which may include spacial scenes, depending on the website. Go to a site like CNN or similar, and click on any article. In the browser URL box you should see the spacial icon. Click on it and the article will float in space in a light background. Photos in the article will "spacialize". Really cool feature and I look forward to future iterations.

But, owing to its "beta-ness", it's a bit flakey in parts. Plus, that light background is WAY too bright. It hurts my eyes. I'm sure it all will get better.

Spacial scenes are similar to spacial photos. The difference is, when moving closer to a spacial photo, the whole photo moves closer. With spacial scenes, when you move closer the foreground doesn't move, allowing you to "move into" the photo. Adds to the immersion quality.

You can't "spacial photo" any 2d images anymore, the only choice (the best one!) is spacial scenes. If you have a spacial or spacialized photo, You can make it a spacial scene. You then can easily convert it back and forth between spacial photo, spacial scene, or 2D.

Some things I've noticed: When you move to the other side of the window, it becomes invisible. You don't see the "back" of the window as a gray rectangle anymore. I like this change. Also Virtual display will let me pin it to the area where my external monitor is. When I move it near the monitor I hear a noise and the Virtual display kind of snaps into that area.

Widgets are a bit buggy atm. When you stick (anchor) a few to the wall, and you put AVP down for a bit (or reboot), it can take a few minutes for the widgets to reappear. Also - they do tend to drift just a little, especially with restarts. If you've carefully placed a few, you might find they move slightly.

Is anyone updating just their Apple Vision Pro to the beta? I’m happy to run visionOS 26 this early in the beta summer, but I’ll wait for later public betas on my iPad and iPhone.

Ah very interesting! So spatial scene is just a replacement for the 2D to 3D conversion from last year if I understand you right. How do photos taken natively in Spatial behave? Can you convert those to a Spatial Scene?

Yes. The only difference is you don’t have access to a (native) 2d version.
Can you convert a Panoramic to a Spatial Scene? The demo videos people have made showing Panoramics in the Photos Widget look pretty impressive?

I'd be OK trying visionOS 26 on my AVP when the public beta is released, but I'm not willing to update my Mac and iPhone, so I guess I'll have to wait.

I’ve never tried a beta but appreciate those who do. I used to write and test software for a living. I have a healthy respect for bugs.

I've been using it since it's release. Seems fairly stable. Couple of things, is anyone else having a problem closing the new app folders on the Home Screen and it seems odd to me that there is no option to change the app icons to clear like on the other platforms. widgets are fun.

I'm keeping a keen eye on this thread... I too use mine for work daily, but I am desperate to try the new features 👀👀👀

I have been running the betas automatically since I got the headset. It's scheduled to do 2.6 beta tonight, so I guess it's a little bit behind on its auto updating. So far, all of the betas have been pretty stable.

I am running VisionOS26 since day one of the Beta. Not a single problem so far. Everything runs. Still discovering everything. That eye-scrolling is absolutely cool, once you know, how it works. Just watch the top or the bottom of a window and it scrolls. Handling is easy.
