You could wait for public beta, which is downgradable.
AFAIK, there is no public beta program for visionOS. It's not even listed on Apple's beta program page.

You need a developer account to get the beta, though it doesn't cost anything for a basic account. I wonder if Apple did it this way because there's apparently no way to downgrade without the $300 Developer Strap. I've read that some Apple Stores will do this for you, but I suspect Apple wants to limit these requests.

I installed it a couple hours ago. In a word: fantastic!

It's incredibly smooth for a beta, with very few glitches. The new features are even better than I thought they'd be. Spatial Scenes are considerably better than the current spatial conversions. The new persona is much more lifelike – I'm going to use it for a couple work meetings. Lots of other stuff that I haven't tried yet.

I can't use it with my iPhone because I haven't updated to iOS 26, but I'm looking forward to it, maybe after a couple iOS betas are released.

I’m really excited about the new Spatial Scenes as well as the photo widget that works with Panoramas I believe. I appreciate all of the beta testers!

I used the beta for a few more hours last night, including playing with widgets, which are useful. I also used Safari spatial browsing for the first time. Very cool.

It's beta software, so I know there are bugs. But it's working as well as previous visionOS betas at similar stages of development.

Love hearing about your impressions and experiences with the beta!

Thanks! But you can experience it yourself by installing the beta, with the caveat that you have to be ready to encounter bugs. This morning, I saw a few oddities that I'm going to report to Apple, including one possible reboot.

visionOS 26 lets you group apps in folders in the home view. While that's an improvement, rearranging apps by dragging is still a pain because you have to shuttle back-and-forth between pages. I'd like to see a utility that would let me do it on a Mac.

I'm still unsure if I like eye scrolling. The few times I used it in Safari, I sometimes scrolled inadvertently. I'll have to play with it some more.

I spent my career writing and testing software. I have a healthy respect for bugs and all they can do. So I’m fine to wait.

Yeah I’ve found it difficult to rearrange the apps.

I’m curious about the eye scrolling but the existing way of scrolling is so intuitive that I never imagined an upgrade.

Is the Jupiter Environment available yet? 🤓

Nope, no Jupiter. I have a feeling it won’t appear until release, if then.

I hear you about betas and bugs. My decision to install the beta was influenced by my previous experience with visionOS, with the understanding that it wouldn’t necessarily translate to version 26.
