I think I am going to pull the trigger on a 27" iMac Retina, I am leaning towards a 512SSD drive because Hi Sierra doesn't support fusion drives. I am on the fence between a 2015 and a 2017, all I know I want is a quad core processor, an upgraded graphics card might be nice, but not sure what to look for in a pre built system as far as graphics cards.

Any suggestions on where I should keep an eye on for deals and what discounts I should jump on?

Is $150 off a good deal on a $2,000 system this time of year?

Any suggestion appreciated I am looking to spend around $1,500 but would spend more for a solid deal.

It's going to be harder to find a 2015 iMac with SSD being sold "new".
Might be easier to get an Apple-refurbished model with this configuration.

If you're in the USA (but not in California) check out:
portableone.com

No financial interest, but they do both discounts AND build-to-order.
I've bought from them in the past with excellent results.

Looks like they're offering a $150 gift card on certain items, imacs included...My order is going in today.
Going for the 27" top tier imac.

Going to have to change my user name I guess.
