    Hello everyone,

I don't know about you, but I use my smartphone (currently iPhone 5) almost exclusively to reluctantly respond to WhatsApp messages, to write short e-mails, to listen to music and for Tinder, which is also mostly texting.

So it struck me that I might be a lot happier with a phone that sacrifices screen size for a physical keyboard and obviously an SD-card slot, whose omission is kind of a dickish move in modern smartphones...

Does anyone here use a Blackberry? How well do Android apps work on them?
and why do they have such a low market share? What else would I lose, switching from an Apple smartphone? To be honest, the only thing I REALLY like about my phone is its metal exterior and I feel like even that is a step back from the iPhone 4s. I would love iMessages, except nobody else I know owns an iPhone or writes SMS, so I never get to use it. They all use Android phones, which I understand, and they all use Samsung, which I don't.

Do you think it's worth for me to pick up a Blackberry Q10?

I can give you my opinions. Background: I owned an iphone 4,5,6, samsung note 4, google nexus 5 all before.

I got a blackberry passport because I heard you can side-load android apps using SNAP. Here is the caveat- not all android apps function smoothly and some do not work at all.

So I am going to resell it and go back to iphone 6. If you like apps, a blackberry is a bad purchase. The camera is bad too. I tried using bank of america app (it runs so slow on blackberry) to deposit my check and I had a hard time getting a clear up-close shot of my signature on the check.

But if u have no need for any apps, it is a great device. The blackberry OS is actually very smooth and intuitive. It is GREAT for emails.

Poster has been subsequently banned - so I don't imagine they will be responding, but I do concur with you.

BlackBerry Q10 user here. Without a doubt the best phone I've ever owned. Awesome for communication and the OS blows both iOS and Android out of the picture. I don't use that many apps but the Android ones I have used have all worked fine. Spotify, Steam and a few games I've downloaded all function without issue.

Had a passport but returned it (wanted the newer design from AT&T).

Phone was my fav phone so far. Everything was fluid! Im not tied down to google services so that was no biggie. Also, as someone who gets a lot of emails, texts, and other notifications through out the day this phone was perfect. It also had amazing battery life (same if not better than note 4)

plus with the new 10.3 update, the android runtime is supposedly significantly improved which means android apps should run leagues better.

Honestly, Id buy the phone on amazon. They're selling for a little over $400 right now and you can return within 30 days if you'd like. Give it a test go and see what happens! Plus check out crackberry and youtube to see how to easily get android apps onto the phone!
