Im starting in mech eng. and I will need to work with solidworks. I've been planning on buying a MBP for decades and now I've just noticed SW won't work on a mac...

So I guess I'll get boot camp to partition my hard drive and run SW on Windows.

Therefore, my question is does anyone here ever ran SW on a intel based MBP? Does it work well in general? Is it laggy?

Thanks

I don't use CAD, but Maya is essentially the idea; it's alright; I would have preferred better optimized drivers.

I am in Mech. Eng. too and had a MacBook, running VMWare fusion and solidworks. It works great - only a little slower than normal. I'd imagine that MBP is going to be really fast with the graphics card. Anyways, I'd go with VMWare fusion - only excellent experiences with it.
