Any camera app improvements in iOS12?

Has anybody found any improvements to the camera app other than better Portrait Lightijg. I am upset that we still can’t change the camera recording settings from within the app, but I am hoping that we can at least keep HDR turned on permanently.

And maybe they speed up HDR photo capturing, it's very slow

The front facing portrait mode on the X is so so much better. It’s so much more accurate.

From what I've seen HDR doesn't stay on permanently. That's my experience atleast.

It may be blasphemy for most folks, but I kind of wish I could record video in "square" mode when I know I'm going to use it for Instagram.

As long as there is no "in-app setting change", the camera app itself will not have many improvements.
