I'm in Calgary. I live here 'cause there's decent jobs, a nice house, clean air and lots of people who haven't a clue how to drive! Must be from Ontario and Quebec.:D

I'm from the maritimes and still consider Nova Scotia home although I've been gone for 30+ years....

Calgary, here. Lived all my life in the Stampede City ('cept for a year or two spent in Edmonton, but, shhh...don't tell anyone THAT...!).

Saskatoon here.

But I don't yet own a Mac - still debating a Macbook vs something that may be a little more Linux friendly :)

Where is my favorite egomaniac and sexiest-Canadian-alive ~Shard~? I can't believe he hasn't popped in here yet. :)

Sorry to disappoint leekohler, I only found this thread just now. ;) And yes, I'm a proud Canadian as well. As you can see by my location, I live on the Prairies in Regina, Saskatchewan. Great place to live, and so inexpensive, which allows me to spend money on all the many things I enjoy doing. It's all about quality of life here and I'm all for that. :)

Ooohh!!OOhhh!!! Pick me! I am Canadian...

But why do I have to live in Calgary, Alberta?

*stares at beautiful mountains*
*stares at clean water awards*
*stares at apple store*

:D

I love living here in Calgary. Really nce place once you forget about the traffic nightmare you dealt with when trying to get here.

:D

Apple Store? Not until Chinook..... :D
I'm from Calgary btw.

Wannabe - will be probably in 2007 - She lives in BC - popped the question last year - she said yes - now we have to set a date! I'll move up there in a heartbeat. For now, I'm in the Pacific Northwest.

you might get to be a resident, but it will take you three years of residency to become a citizen. residency doesn't make you Canadian. Do all those Mexicans get to be American citizens by dint of residency?

You don't actually have to be married to a Canadian, just sha... :p sorry living together for more than a certain amount of time.

You can then apply as Family Class, which is speedier than most methods, then keep your nose clean for 3-years, before applying and taking the 'test' etc..

Now we can hold a gigantic 100% Canadian sausage party! I'll bring the keg of beer brewed right here in the Kokanee mountains. :D

Nor Loose Jaw.
Ouch, that would be no fun.

Well duh, silly. :D :p

I've lived in Edmonton for most of my life. Now I live in the world's largest hamlet..... What? You've never heard of it??? It's Sherwood Park....just a couple minutes out of Edmonton. Really, it's true. :) As much as I love Canada, I'm called to NYC. I can't wait!

I'm actually thinking of moving to Canada. I'm from London, lived in the US for a while, moved back to London and now have itchy feet again. Thinking about Toronto but heard its just as expensive to live there as it is here :(

Hehe I'd say I was Canadian. I have both citizenships but I live in Philly now. Oh and I'd like to add, Macs are so expensive over there and their tax hurts in a way. ;)

Wow, I was living in Philly my whole life, and now I live in Vancouver. But I was always a Canadian Citizen. Born in Regina, then lived in Nova Scotia, and now Vancouver. Sorry rest of Canada, the west is the best. Where the ocean meets the mountains meets the city meets the safe injection site. I love it !

Spicy Apple, I liked your add you made for the contest !

Now we can hold a gigantic 100% Canadian sausage party!

So I take it that means you are not a female. So much trickery on MR.....

EH !!

Born in Québec city, lived in Winnipeg for 14 years.

Been living in Nova Scotia for 6, and I go to school in New Brunswick.

I would like to add that I LOVE the maritimes.

Yes, Toronto is very expensive and the air quality is not as good as other larger cities in Canada. It's also more of a concrete jungle than other larger cities as well, so depending on your preferences that might be something to consider as well. That being said, Vancouver actually has the highest average house prices in all of Canada, so it is technically the most expensive city to live in from that perspective - you're looking at over $500K for a home there.

So yes, it would be wise to factor those things into your decision. Aspects such as quality of life and cost of living are the most important in my books, but to each their own.
