Any chance of 15" MacBook Pros dropping in price soon?

i would like to drop $2000 on a new laptop.

Duff-Man says....not likely. But you say you want to drop $2000 - that's the base price on a MacBook Pro, and if you check the refurb section at Apple you can get one for as little as $1350 right now.....oh yeah!

$1350? Where? All I see is $1699

At http://store.apple.com/us/product/G0G02LL/A?mco=MjE0NjE5MA

They have a 2.8 GHz, 4GB RAM, 320 GB HD, 15" MBP for $2,299!

Give me one reason why not to buy this computer refurbished from Apple?
(Also, is the upgrade to 2.93 GHz worth $270 - student price)??

Can't give you a reason not to buy it. DO IT!!!

My opinion is that the upgrade would not be worth it. Unless you are doing to very intensive stuff, you probably won't see a difference. Either one is lightning fast!

No chance. Apple really doesn't change prices. They introduce new machines with more features at the same price point. A MBP 15" has been $1999 for a long time and likely will remain at that price until the massive inflation from the govt's bailout package kicks in. :)
