The current apple wireless keyboard was introduced in 2009. Is there any chance of apple refreshing it?
(Its still bluetooth 2 not 4)

I wouldn't be surprised to see a new version introduced with the San Francisco font when El Capitán hits the streets, with the revisions cited a few months ago here: http://9to5mac.com/2015/03/23/apple-wireless-keyboard-backlit-keys/

I have one of the older and refreshed (in 2011) versions, and yeah, they're long in the tooth - I've not used my "Eject" key in years. I would prefer being able to get a US English version of the EU layouts - the long Return and left Shift keys are a waste of space to me.

I think you'd have to go in the way back machine to find a high quality input device from Apple. Perhaps 1995/1996 or so. They've always been afterthoughts and only updated when there must be a change to support the hardware. Even then, they're always cheap IMO. None have been "Mighty" or "Magic"

A new Apple TV remote will be hailed as a big deal even if it was long over due 4 years ago.

All of my Apple input devices are working great for me. I am hoping for the keyboard refresh that I read about several months ago. The current keyboard works great, but having backlit keys as noted in the article I read back then would be awesome. Since the iMac does not have a disc drive, the eject key really makes no sense and the on/off switch that was pictured makes more sense.

Aren't the iMacs shipping with the same exact wireless keyboard with the eject key or is it modified?
iMacs are shipping with the standard wireless keyboard with the eject key. I have a less than 1 years old iMac and it shipped with the keyboard. I bought it at an Apple Store at the Millenia Mall in Orlando, and they switched out the mouse for a the trackpad since I already had a mouse that I was using with a MacBook Pro.

Thanks for the reply. I just started thinking about this very same thing a few days ago about the iMacs.

I bought the wireless keyboard a few months back to use with my Mac Mini because I needed all the ports for drives. I was using the wired Apple keyboard before this.

I do like the current wireless keyboard though. I had the old wireless keyboard in 2008 and there were times it would just quit working. I discovered that if I slapped it down on the carpeted floor hard enough, it would start working again. Eventually, it just quit working all together a few years ago.

I would love the one with the lighted keys to come out.

Recently something strange began happening here. I have a Mac mini late 2012, BT kb, and OS X 10.11 beta.

Sometimes after wake up - maybe 50% - the kb does not respond correctly, displaying on the screen what seems to be random keypresses. The only way to overcome this, is to power off the kb using the power button on it, and then power on. Disabling it with the BT option on the screen does not work.

The mouse and the trackpad are not affected by this nuisance. It seems to me that this problem began with the 1st iteraction of El Capitan, but I am not sure.

Anyone experienced something like this? Any ideas?
