Okay so it’s pretty established at this point that these laptops are going to have miniLED displays. I think the chances of 120hz are low, but if you consider that Apple is already producing a 120hz miniLED display for the iPad Pro, maybe there’s a chance that they would just use the same display technology in the MacBooks? (but without touch input)

I haven’t heard any rumors about this but I would love to see it. No doubt that those laptops are going to have enough battery life to support the feature. Even though it hasn’t been rumored, I feel like it would just make sense.

Thoughts?

I believe I heard a rumor that the displays could be 90hz. 120hz would be great!
Hm that would be better than 60 but I can’t see them doing that. I think they’re either gonna go 60 or straight to 120.

It is a possibility. Since iPad Pro featured 120Hz mini-LED with a variable refresh rate.

Promotion is tied to the LTPO OLED displays that allow variable refresh rates.
No. iPad pros have had LCD displays and mini-LED displays that have 120Hz and variable refresh rate that is literally marketed as ProMotion before the LTPO displays on Apple Watches or iPhones.

As per my comment on a similar topic, no they won’t have it. However, the 2022/2023 will likely get it. This is due to Apple already having enough marketing power and features for this years MacBook
