My 2015 13" MBA started to feel tight with 256GB, I got the adapter and a 500GB NVME drive, all went smooth for a while until it started to hung up and give signs of no great health, had to go back to the stock SSD but it too has something wrong, the computer is very old but still serves well for daily activities and for basic photo editing, which is the most demeaning tasks I would ask it, issue being that now I am in the same situation with the stock SSD failing and the NVME one not being stable for a reliable usage so I am considering getting an OEM one but have no clue where to find it either here in Italy/EU or abroad, any suggestion?

Grazie

Try another adapter. It may have been a dud.

TBH your MBA is 8yo and I wouldn't spend extra for it.

Have you considered getting a used 2020 MBA M1? Those go for <$700 these days.

It is probably not SSD related. Might be something with logic board, if both disks behave strangely. Exactly, what are the signs of the notebook's malfunctioning?

Grazie, I have a 11-inch Early 2015 i7 Air and have a 512GB Samsung 970 PRO M.2 NVMe storage drive with a Sintech adapter installed running perfectly. I have since updated the OS on my Air to 13.3 Ventura using OCLP 0.6.2n and it has been running perfectly so far.

Point being, with a decent performing NVME M.2 storage drive the laptop is still capable of running newer software. If you have any question feel free to message me. :apple:
